Catherine H. Boyer Norton, 81, of Avondale, passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2005 at the Jennersville Regional Hospital. She was the devoted wife of Harry E. Norton, Sr. Born on August 8, 1923 in Wilmington, De., she was the daughter of the late Joseph Granville and Dorothy Robinson Boyer.
She was a founding and very active member of the Christ Temple Church of Kennett Square, now called Greater Works Ministries, and in 1993 she was named the Mother of the church.
She loved to make pies, and was know especially for her apple and sweet potato pies. She also enjoyed shopping and collecting horses.
Surviving besides her husband of almost 65 years, three daughters, Joanne N. McKim Helen L. Reeves, and Catherine E. Jones all of Avondale; son, Wayne A. Norton of Avondale; brother, Joseph Boyer, Jr., of Kennett Square; 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her son, Harry E. Norton, Jr., brother, William P. Boyer, Sr., and a sister, Louise E. Crammer.
