Robert ‘Puggy’ Anderson of Kennett Square Robert “Puggy” Anderson, 84, of Kennett Square, passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2013, at Neighborhood Hospice, West Chester.
He was the husband of Anna Warren Anderson, with whom he shared 52 years of marriage. Born in Clifton Heights, he was the son of the late Charles Clifford and Caroline Owens Anderson. Puggy was a self-employed contractor working in the mushroom industry for many years.
After working in the mushroom industry, he worked on the Winterstein Horse Farm, which was his passion. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of Greater Works Ministries. He enjoyed doing yard work, seek and word puzzles, watching the Phillies and all the Philadelphia sports teams on TV, and especially doing church activities. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Anita “Janie” Cruz and her husband Louie of West Grove; two brothers, Gene Anderson of Bristol, Pa. and Clarence “Bunny” Anderson of Kennett Square; two sisters, Mary “Tootsie: Anderson of Kennett Square, and Sarah Ingram of Paoli; four grandchildren and three great- grandchildren.
Puggy was predeceased by two sons, Earl and Erving Warren, one sister and four brothers. You are invited to visit with his family and friends from 9 to 11 on Saturday morning, April 6, at the Greater Works Ministries, 533 Rosedale Road, Kennett Square.
