“The Law of Confession”
Lesson 2 – The Confession that produces Success
“The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life”
John 6:63
It is rather vital that we understand that there is connection between what we say and what we have in life. It is sad that many believers don’t grasp that their words are both spiritual and powerful, especially when they are declaring the Word of God. Proverbs 18:20-21
In addition to this, we need to examine our perspective of confession. Traditionally, it is framed from the perspective of something negative. We usually associate it as sin or a crime that one has committed. For the sake of our discussion, we will look at a significant aspect that the enemy would like to keep us in the dark to. This is speaking God’s will and Word in faith.
Homologeo:
The Greek word translated “confession” in the New Testament is homologeo. It is a compound word: homo, which means “the same” and logeo, which means “word”. Specifically speaking it is: “to say the same thing as another, that is to agree with, assent; to concede; to profess; to declare openly”.
What this means is to say the same thing that God says. We are admonished [or encouraged] to look past our troubles we may be experiencing and say what God says. Psalm 27:1, Philippians 4:13, Romans 8:37 [through him- a source we draw upon]
God has laid out a path for you to follow, and this begins with your words. This accomplished by Homologeo (saying what God says). It gets you on the way to obtaining the promises God has given you in his word.
Let’s get it on:
As believers we understand that we will have to fight the enemy. This will be on-going until Jesus comes. We have to remember that we will not obtain victory being negative and continuing to confess the problem. It is important that one be focused on God and hears the answer God provides.
The Holy Spirit has all the answers. It will come from within your spirit and maintain inner peace. This answer is your confession from that moment on.
